Come ride with me through the veins of history

Sat Aug 30, 2008, 5:46 PM
I've been doing a bunch of preliminary visualization (aka pre-viz) work on a major daria animation project. I posted some of it on the scraps section so check it out if you like and let me know what you think, I'll try to post more as I make them. We started planning this more than two years ago and hopefully It'll get complete sometime within the next two, so cross your fingers but don't hold your breath :) I'm also still working on a few daria animated shorts. You might have saw bits and pieces of those in my gallery and (mostly) scraps section.

I'll also try to post new still art as I make them but as you can see I'm so caught up with the animation projects I might be kind of slow in getting new stuff up. Sorry :( Anyway I just felt like writing this after posting my latest scraps. Maybe I should write more journals.... If I get time... *sign* why do it do so much? Oh yeah... for the lulz (and chix0rz XD) but mostly for the lulz. Anyway, hope you enjoy my work. :D

I love your stuff. :) Daria has been my favorite show since I was in the 7th grade, 6 years ago. :D
I love looking at what you have, even though I go to your gallery so often, I already know what's there. :)

I'm happy to see someone still into the show. I still love it and watch it on occasion. I've often thought how easy it would be to translate that show to Flash animation because it was very planar. I'm sure they could do it at a fraction of the budget today than they did back in the 90s and have it look fairly close to the same if they didn't do anything stupid like put too many effects in it. I've even thought of how easy it would be to do fan comics of it just using cut/paste and paper-doll techniques to put them together, the camera shots were always the same.
This is super-duper weird that I accidentally ran into your gallery because I had a dream just last night that MTV put a new Daria series on the air. I didn't do a search on Daria images, I just saw your images someplace.

I know that you haven't updated in what's going on 9 months, but what the hey...

I really admire what you've done and, hopefully, are still doing for Daria. High quality fanpics and fanpics like yours are rarely seen of ANY TV show, movie or 1920's radio novel, let alone one that had its series finish at possibly the worst time if it's to have a fan base kept (early 2000's means, in internet terms, it's become extremely hard to find. Plus, MTV men STILL haven't made a DVD of it yet...*grumble*).

Also, since you may possibly have some sort of vague connection with the official-ish [link] as some of your pictures are on it, and I'm really sorry if I've offended you by saying that: do you know if there is ANY way besides the useless online polls to get a DVD status report, at least?
